For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to own my own business. As a kid, I had lemonade stands and ran backyard carnivals. After high school, going into retail management seemed like the ideal job. I could learn what it takes to run a business.

After my youngest daughter was born, I wanted to stay home with her and not drop her off at someone else’s house. Since I wanted my own business, I quit my job and started a commercial interior design company from my home.

Within a short time, it was a very profitable business. So why was I sitting on the floor crying?Because that success came at a cost. I was exhausted, working long hours, working the evenings and weekends.

I hardly spent any time with my daughter. While sitting there crying, I kept thinking, I gave up 6 weeks paid vacation for this?!! I was working less hours at my job.

Eventually, I collapsed and an ambulance rushed me to the emergency room. My health was ruined. It took 3 months in bed to recover. I watched all my hard work go down the drain.

My business barely hangs by a thread, Since every time management class failed me. I knew I had to come up with something different. I saved my business by creating a system that achieved more in 15 minutes than working long hours. And made more money too.

I also wanted a business not so demanding on my health. I still had a long road to recovery. I got on the internet and found a way to start and run an online business. I would eventually phased out my design business.

I joined online forums which were full of people asking how I could run two businesses, take time off, and still profit

One day a cry for help appeared in my inbox

“I’m so exhausted with trying to keep my business going, taking care of my kids, getting involved in their activities, and keeping my marriage together. I’m stretched way too thin and I can’t do it anymore. I’ll be 33 in about a week and I feel like I’m turning 61. I have no time for myself to just relax and it’s really taking a toll on my health.
